What increased Nikalaus of Patara to the stage of 'Sainthood' and then the 'Father Christmas' was his belief in the importance of sharing what you own. Nikalaus, being born in the 3rd century, had had a religious education in a monastery in Ksanthos. In the years 290-280 he had come to visit his uncle who had let the Saint Syon Church built. After his uncle's death he became the metropolit of the same church.
